Importance of the Roads
The roads allowed easy means for faster travel, and provided access to many areas and a good communication network. They were also great for trading with other cultures. With roads stretching 51,000 miles across Rome it's not surprising that today we still repeat the saying that "All roads led to Rome". The Roman roads were very important to the Romans, for many reasons.
